Living in my head

by: Katie on Mon, Apr 07 2008

I am 11 years old and I want to share my story of right now.I haven’t had a official diagnosis but me and my family believe I have Aspergers syndrome. I’ve grown up with a lot of the signs like social impairment, high intelligence, and repetitive behavior but I didn’t have speech impairment. Life is hard for me because I know I have something different about me that a lot of people will never understand but it’s also easier because I know I think and see different and it can help me. Also this isn’t so hard because all it is to me is putting a name on things that have happened my whole life. But I still won’t call it easy because it seems like every day is a fight with my family about something I want or do and worrying all day at school. My only time when I feel fine is when I’m at home and I can jump on my little trampoline, listen to my music, and think about everything and in my head I can do what I want with whoever I want and I don’t have to worry about what people think of me. I don’t think I’ll ever be normal but I think I’ll be fine how I am.
