my story

by: Emily on Mon, Jul 07 2008

I have a 4 year old daughter with autism We have been told she has AS, she didn’t start walking until she was almost 3 and has just started talking almost 5. What I think is ironic is she can sing words that she can’t say if she’s just talking. My daughter is brilliant but now that i really read about AS i get worried because i just had another baby 4 months ago and now I’m worried that she may have the same thing if it truly is genetic. No one that i know in my family has anything like this. If anyone that has been through what I’m going through please help me understand this better. I have some problems myself with trying to go to college and I have a speech impedement and a learning problem. My 4 year old will not potty train either. Please write if you have any suggestions. Thanks and god bless
