pancreatitis

by: TY on Thu, Jan 31 2008

My son, 34 year old, died as a result of pancreatitis. Had been on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma for 3 months, finally succumbed to lung failure. Had previously experienced diareeha, extreme pain, bloating, and his liver and kidneys shut down. Developed unknown, low grade infection in hospital, had gall bladder removed, but to no avail. Unfortunately he was a smoker and his lungs were not strong enough to sustain the ventilator…could not keep the lungs working properly. Had experienced problems about 30 days before going to hospital, did not go to a specialist but relied on a non-speciality doctor.
