coming to terms with OCD

by: Carmen on Fri, Sep 14 2007

I was pregnant when I would say it all started the symptoms that is, of repetition, I would always wash my hands carefully and hate dirt or insects. spiders especially. and well, because of fear for my unborn child I would wash carefully after cooking meats, etc. and would not clean the cats litter box.
Then, when i gave birth it was a whole new thing, I started to have worsen symptoms such as obsessed with dirt and washing my hands more and cleaning up areas where my child was.
and I hated going out with my baby coz of insects etc, but now, that shes bigger a toddler, I still have a bit of it I feel it has lessen though, I only have to wash up from dirt or dusty things i must touch due to kids ways. of having things thrown around all the time i guess.
But I take Effexor for depression and social anxiety too. I have the dosage of 150mg and I feel its doing better than my prior one of 75 mg , I would like to share this experience, so if anyone out there feels the same can relate too! Its hard and its a challenge!
