To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Living With OCD Being a 14 year old with OCD is hard. My compulsions are so hard to deal with. Like after I get something from the fridge, I have to push against the door several times to make sure it’s shut. When I go to bed at night, after I shut my door, I stand there for several minutes opening and closing the door. After I run the faucet, I have to push it down so hard to make sure it’s off. Then I stand there and stare at it for several minutes to make sure there’s no water dripping. When I take my glasses off to go to bed, they have to be perfect, I mess with them for what seems likes hours until I get them just right. When I put my drink down on the table, I have to pick it back up then put it back down several times. And then as I walk away, I look back a few times to make sure it’s not too close to the edge. Every few minutes I lick my fingers and put them in my ears. Before I put on my socks, I have to lick my fingers and put them between my toes. I’m so afraid that it will get worse when I’m older. I’m only 14 and I already do so many OCD things. I don’t want people to think I’m crazy, because I’m not. Living with OCD is so hard, and I wish people would understand that. It messes with life all the time… it’s terrible. So many people have to live with it, including me. Comments
