I had 4 colonoscopies with the last being July 2001, I was 51 years old and somehow they never found it or didn’t look far enough since it was near the end of my colon. They said my symptons were not consistent with colon cancer, I alternated constipation with direarra [diarrhea] could not stand any pressure on my stomach, could not even bend over long enough to tie my shoes without getting sick, my stools looked like ribbons. The good news, I am four years out, I had a wonderful surgeon and think I am doing very well, I still have the constipation, direrra [diarrhea] at least once a week but I don’t wear a bag and you learn to carry extra underwear, control sometimes is not good.
