In 2000 I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer( stage 3a).All summer long I had this feeling of being full, bloated and very tired. But hoding down two jobs, I thought that was the cause and that at the end when my job at the resort was finished, i could relax and rest. What an experience! every three weeks, a trip to the cities* around 250 miles one way. Chemo consisted of eight treatments of Cisplatin, Taxol,
I think I had almost every side effect that was given. Ill for two weeks, vomiting ect. then began to feel a little better and it was time for another round. I was just recovering from this and was diagnossed again with Breast cancer so more Dr’s and more medication, more pain in the bones and feeling terrible, just was recovering from this and along came a tripple-by-pass. All this was in three years. It took many months and many days of almost giving up. Had begun to call visiting the Dr. my social life. When I quit taking the tomoxifen the dr. orderd. It was then and only then that I really started to feel better. I am now73 years, have been cancer free for six, going on seven years. But, I have osteropiosis and PMR. I am just now comming down from the medication.
I did all this living alone, with my children living 250 miles away. I now take care of myself, mow my own grass, remove my own snow, drive my own car. I walk everyday about two or three miles,( with my dog)
I think I’m doing fine, very fine!!! So anyone out there that is being told they have Ovavan cancer, you can make it!!!!!
